Barton gets 12-game ban from FA
By: Rob | September 5th, 2008
Joey Barton has been given a complex 12 game ban by the FA after his assault on former Manchester City teamate Ousmane Dabo. I say complex, because instead of doing the thing that we could all understand and giving him a 12 game ban, the FA have decided to ban Barton for six games, with a six game suspended sentence, untill 2009-10.
Apparently the six games would automatically be added if Barton is sent off, or found guilty of a similar misdemenour between now and 2009-10. Kevin Keegan was due to give a charachter reference, but it is thought he faxed in his report. (Fax? Its not 1985 anymore KK)
I can see what the FA is trying to do – trying to force Barton to try and improve himself, but I dunno if it will work really, Barton is a bit of a nutter and I wonder if this really is the way to get him to behave. Time will tell.

This is disgusting. Patrick Vieira got a 7-match ban for SPITTING on Neil Ruddock. Rio Ferdinand got banned for 18 months for forgetting to piss into a cup for a drug test. Barton is a thug who should be banned for life.
