Good Day/Bad Day is Back!
By: Rob | November 15th, 2008
After an extended hiatus, and not by popular demand, my irreverant look through at the days soccerball, by simply dividing up whose had a good day and who has had a bad one is very much back.
It Was A Good Day For:
Cristiano Ronaldo - 101 goals in all competitions now for C-Ron, an astonishing record for someone who’s a) Not a striker, and b) not been here that long. Maybe those wage demands will be met. Even if at least one of his free-kicks should have been saved.
People With Silly Beards – Not only did Rafa Benitez guide Liverpool to another win, but so did newly-bearded Roy Keane, thanks to the silliest beard of them all, Cisse.
Le Sulk – Anelka is in the absolute form of his life. 7 goals in 3 matches? Incredible.
Titus Bramble – He might be the butt of so many jokes, but he did manage to score the goal that saved Wigan a point against Newcastle United today.
Rob Green – Hasn’t kept a clean sheet this season. Don Fabio watches him. He keeps a clean sheet. West Ham fans will be hoping the Don visits more often.
Right Backs – Last week Man United’s Rafael scored a screamer from Right Back. This week, Bosingwa scored a similarly brilliant goal for Chelsea. Full Backs who can just cross are clearly a thing of the past.
Good Football - West Brom have to be admired for coming up from the Championship and continuing to play expansive, impressive football. They sit bottom of the league, after losing 3-0 against Chelsea.
And Bad Football - Meanwhile Stoke have come up and played the kind of boring football that wins matches not fans. They got beat 5-0 by Manchester United today.
Gomes - The Spurs keeper made two or three outstanding saves today. Then he threw it in his own net.
Arsenal - After the elation of beating Man United you would expect Arsenal to win today – even against a very good Villa side. Not so. Aston Villa won 2-0.

I think the goal from Rafael is much better than Bosingwa’s goal.
