‘King Kev’ shown the Newcastle Door after row
By: Rob | September 2nd, 2008
Kevin Keegan has offically been shown the door at Newcastle United, just under 9 months after returning to the club. It had been suspected since earlier this morning that Keegan had parted company with the Toon after he didn’t take training this morning. The Former England manager was reportedly upset at Dennis Wise’s role at the club, as well as the transfer policy.
Newcastle owner Mike Ashley wore a Newcastle shirt with ‘King Kev’ across the back, but it seems even this wasn’t enough to stop him firing the man he once described as a hero – which frankly sums the man up. I wonder if he sacked Keegan while wearing the King Kev shirt?
The real question is who the hell is going to want to take over at Newcastle now? Not only is it the most impossible job in all football, bringing instant success and good football to a side who will sack you inside a year of you don’t immediately deliver, but you wouldn’t be able to shape the side in your image as the transfer window is firmly shut untill Jan 1st.
