Getting out of training. Newcastle United Style.

Want some?Newcastle United had to call off training this morning when Geordie Striker Andy Carroll and French midfielder Charles N’Zogbia came to blows after a late tackle from the former on the latter. N’Zogbia is reportedly trying to get out of Newcastle, and perhaps he felt that giving a local boy a bit of a thumping in the training was the way to achieve this.

The club of course were keen to make teammates having a punch up seem like a normal experience:
“It was nothing more than handbags at 10 paces,” said a source. “It is the sort of thing that probably happens on training grounds all the time and should not be blown out of all proportion.”

Right. Not every club employs Joey Barton, eh?

To be fair, Joe Kinnear has hardly set a good example for his players. In his short time at the club he has been charged with improper conduct three times, the most recently because of an falling out with Hull manager Phil Brown.

I do love the idea that this was an everyday occurance. I’m sure at grounds up and down the country training sessions are being called off on a daily basis because two of the players decide to have a set-to.

Perhaps Not.
