Ronaldo off to Madrid for £80m. For Real this time.
By: Rob | June 11th, 2009
Manchester United have, at the behest of the player himself, accepted an £80m bid from Real Madrid for Cristiano Ronaldo. Let me be the first to say Eighty million pounds? How fucking absurd.
“At Cristiano’s request – who has again expressed his desire to leave – and after discussion with the player’s representatives, United have agreed to give Real Madrid permission to talk to the player,” – Reads the Man United website.
And I can’t blame them. Man United can build a team with that money.
That is, if Real Madrid haven’t distorted the Transfer Window too much with all these signings. The sound you can hear is Inter and Bayern rubbing their hands together (If Ronaldo is worth £80m, Ibra and Ribery must be worth at least…etc)
But yes, it looks like the most tedious transfer saga of all time is going to come to a swift end. Ronaldo is finally joining Madrid.
More reaction when I haven’t just got out of bed.

Insane price, but it was always going to be a new world record fee for Ronaldo so I’m not surprised. Just glad it’s done so early, now we can have the summer to set and acquire our targets.
