‘Poison’ Berba the reason for Spurs rubbishness
By: Rob | September 30th, 2008
Former Spurs player and manager Terry Venables has hit out at Dimitar Berbatov claiming his “poison presence” is the reason that Spurs have started so badly.
He also claimed the striker had no dream beyond his own paypacket. Which frankly seems a bit harsh to me. I mean, yes Spurs won the Carling Cup last year, but presumably Berba was looking at that Champions League medal and thinking he wanted one.
“Berbatov kept telling us he had ‘a dream’,” Venables told The Sun. “Well, good for you Dimi. You had a dream with a few extra noughts added to your bank balance. But did Spurs have a dream too? You got your way but your poisonous presence at the start of the season – the brooding and the reluctance to play – has cost the club that believed in you.”
If he was just interested in the bank balance, he probably would have joined City wouldn’t he? Spurs need to get the hell on with their season. There is an easy reason why Spurs are 20th in the table. Last season, they scored more goals than anyone (Bar Man United) but conceeded more than anyone (bar Derby), so by selling off his two best goalscorers, Keane and Berba, what the hell did Ramos think was going to happen?

@ yeppers – Haha.
weve been debating Berbatov’s fantasy value intensely at nevercaptainnickybutt.blogspot.com but it is obviously clear that his “poision presence” in London hasnt transferred (yet?) to Manchester… what a stud.
