Happy Thanksgiving kiddies!

Being that it is the day of thanks, I thought I would swipe Daryl's post on the main site and ask supporters/readers of Chelsea Offside what they are thankful for on this glorious day.

It can be funny. It can be endearing. It can even be downright filthy (please ...

Yesterday I read something very sad. Manny Road has left the bloggy ranks. I don't know if you ever visited the site, but it was home to good writing, good jokes, and good opinions. After having complained about Megson for a very long time (haven't we all?) he has finally had enough and won't be supporting the club until Megson leaves. He is about the third Wanderer who I know who has done so.

Hull City 3 Everton 2

Hull City continued a timely return to form with a stunning 3-2 victory over Everton on Wednesday night. Racing out to a three goal lead in the first 30 minutes, they fought off a Toffees comeback to seal all three points. Andy Dawson struck a magnificent ...

Portsmouth, as you may have heard by now, have sacked manager Paul Hart. The club sit bottom of the league in desperate trouble and are staring relegation in the face.
But how much of that is actually Paul Hart's fault?
The club is an absolute mess at the moment. Harry Redknapp built success, but also masses of debt, which meant that when he left, many of the players that he signed were thrown out the door (mostly to Spurs). The instability has meant Hart has not been able to bring anyone in, or do anything but try and get a bunch of deflated players to take on quality week in week out.
Is there anyone who could get Portsmouth out of the mess they are in?

Well, first, as is customary, the good news. We won. In doing so, we not only clinched advancement to the knockout stages, but won our group, ensuring the more beneficial draw of clubs which finish second in their groups. Since we did this with a game to spare, we have the luxury of being able to rest some key players for the December away fixture at Olympiakos, which can be a tough trip and tricky fixture. And we currently have more points (13 from 5 matches) than any other club in the group stages, although several teams could match that total with wins later today.
But, unfortunately, there's some bad news as well.
