Parry wins race to get out of Liverpool

Happier (?) TimesIt seems like everyone is scrambling to get out of Anfield these days. The owners want to sell, even supposedly at a loss, the last week has been plauged by rumours that Rafa Benitez is looking for the door, and now Rick Parry, the club’s Chief Executive, is going to end his 12 year stay at the club.

Parry was at loggerheads with Benitez at the begining of the season about whether they should spend £18m on Gareth Barry, and £20m on Robbie Keane. He also, famously does not get on with club co-owner Tom Hicks.

The suggestion is of course that Hicks has forced him out, 12 months after asking for his resignation in the first place – that time Gillet backed Parry, but now with Rafa Benitez’s future in big doubt, perhaps the two felt the time was right.

Liverpool currently sit second in the league, 7 points behind leaders Manchester United.

Um, you really have no clue what’s going on at Anfield, do you?

Parry is being forced out by Benitez as one of Rafa’s stipulations to agreeing to a new contract. Benitez wants absolute power when it comes to personnel moves and Parry, an accountant by trade, fancied himself a football mind a little to often for the Spaniard.

Benitez has no desire to leave, as for this imaginary ‘race’ to leave Anfield, well, it’s obviously only happening in your head.

Actually, Parry is being forced out by Tom Hicks, Rafa apparently had nothing to do with it.

As ofr the race to leave Anfield, it was a joke. Because Parry and Gillet are looking to sell the club, Benitez is refusing to sign a new contract and Parry is going.

    Not really in my head.
