Good Day/Bad Day
By: Rob | August 16th, 2008
And so the first day of the season has arrived, thank goodness. It was a great day for some, and not such a great day for others. So here, in what will probably be a regularish feature, I’m gonna let you know who’s smiling this evening, and who’s desperate for the day to end.
It was a Good Day For:
Hull City - A triumphant start thier EPL introduction, Hull came from one down to pick up a big win against Fulham.
Samier Nasri – Usually players take a bit of time to settle at a new club, but Nasri scored on his debut today, after just four minutes on the pitch.
Match of the Day commentary – Dean Ashton grabbed two goals right in front of Fabio Capello. Right before taking a Free-Kick, he placed himself before the run-up and BBC commentator Roger Johnson (porn star name that if ever I heard one) commented that he looked “not unlike Johnny Wilkinson*”, and much like England’s Rugby-Union hero, he blazed the ball over the crossbar. Even more like Wilkinson, he injured himself in the process, and limped off soon after and is now unavaliable for his country.
It was a Bad Day For

Shirt Design – The new Liverpool away shirt is surely a crime against humanity. I mean, look at it. I knew it was bad, but somehow it looks so much worse on. I feel like I’ve been transported back to the mid 1990s, a particular nadir for English Football Shirts.
Stoke City – Most people (myself included) thought they’d at least do better than Hull. They’re already three points back from them.
Spurs – There was talk about them getting in the Top 4. Today they couldn’t beat Boro. Back to the drawing board for Ramos.
