Good Day/Bad Day
By: Rob | August 23rd, 2008
Following on last week, an irreverant look at who has had a good day, and who has had a bad day in the EPL today.
Good Day
Jamaica – They are the talk of the world what with Usain Bolt breaking records, left right and centre. Today they were the talk of Stoke after Ricardo Fuller’s classy goal.
Merseyside – Both Everton and Liverpool picked up wins today, its a good night to be a Scouser.
Stoke and Hull – Stoke picked up thier first Prem win, and Hull picked up a great point at Blackburn.
Roger Hunt – England ‘66 legend Roger Hunt holds on to his Liverpool record of goals in consecutive league matches, as Fernando Torres failed to score against Boro.
Carra – Meanwhile Jamie Carragher upped his strike ratio to just under 1 goal in every 100 appearances with his goal this afternoon.
Bad Day
North London – Both Arsenal and Spurs lost, Arsenal suffered a surprise loss against Fulham, while Spurs suffered a loss against Sunderland.
The Aston Villa Defence – Club captain Martin Laursen even had a pop at himself and his defensive teammates today.
Daryl’s Predictions – Our Master Chief only managed to get one winner right so far this week. Still, it was quite an unpredictable day.
Juande Ramos – Had to leave out Dietmar Berbatov because he “wasn’t in the right frame of mind”. He was in the right frame of mind to get two for his country in midweek though.
Mikel Silvestre – Injured. Already.
Gary Lineker’s Jokes on Match of the Day – “Nolan has missed more chances than he has sisters” – Lineker’s jokes were always bad, but surely this is a nadir.
