Scolari Sacked as Chelsea Manager
By: Rob | February 9th, 2009
World Cup winning manager Big Phil Scolari has been axed as manager of Chelsea. Born Number Two Ray Wilkins will take over on a temporary basis. The Brazillian had been in the job just Seven Months, and despite an impressive start, the hungar seemed to dissapear at Stamford Bridge and the Blues currently sit in 4th position.
Chelsea are way way off the title pace too – 7 points back on leaders Manchester United, and have played a game more – and the draw against Hull at the weekend appears to have been the final straw for the club.
What next for Scolari? Who next for Chelsea? Whoever it is, they need to shake up a side that post-Mourinho has gotten complacent. The belief seems to have gone after coming so close to two trophies last season under Avram Grant the current favourite to take over at Portsmouth.
The Statement put out by the club read
The Chelsea board would like to place on record our gratitude for his time as manager, Felipe has brought many positives to the club since he joined and we all feel a sense of sadness that our relationship has ended so soon. Unfortunately the results and performances of the team appeared to be deteriorating at a key time in the season
It isn’t, perhaps a surprising choice, with a big game against Aston Villa coming up. But when you can’t entrust a World Cup Winner to turn things around – who do you get in instead?

Can’t blame them for sacking him.
Roberto Di Matteo for the job! Coming from MK Dons he’s bound to do well! HA!
