Real Madrid Name Price for Robinho
By: Rob | August 22nd, 2008
The third most dull transfer saga of the summer still is not over, as Real Madrid have told Chelsea that Robinho would be alowed to leave Madrid for £32m. The move looked to be over after Chelsea’s bid of £26m was turned down.
It is thought that Real are trying hard to price Chelsea out with this – but considering this is a side with more money than God, and are also awaiting some cash from Adrian Mutu it seems unlikely. Hell they paid £30m for Shevchenko, and he was much older than Robinho is now.
Watching Chelsea last week, they were excellent, but you can definatly see where a pacey Brazillian who could play wing or striker would fit in. He could either play wide, or he could play where Anelka played at the weekend, the pacey running onto the ball striker.
Also with Drogba Injured and on his way out, Chelsea are left with mystifyingly unfavoured Shevchenko (who now, it seems, is staying) and Nicky Anelka as strikers. While the Sulkish One is great on his day, Chelsea could do with someone who has more on days than off. So they probably will want to be buying another option.
