Nightmare for Everton, Bubble Bursts at Hull, Week 3 of the EPL
By: Rob | August 30th, 2008
The bubble well and truely burst for Hull City this week, after a spectacular 5-0 mauling by Wigan. The newly promoted side had begun to suggest they wouldn’t do a Derby, but they will not take heart from that loss.
Elsewhere, Everton suffered a 3-0 loss against Pompey, Arsenal stuffed Newcastle, Boro squeezed past Stoke 2-1 and Curbs eased the pressure with a flattering 4-1 win over Blackburn Rovers. Bolton played out a 0-0 with West Brom.
David Moyes will be unhappy at the general inconsistancy of his side, who lost a close game on the opening day and won last week. Arsenal looked great with Van Persie and Fábregas back, though the former limped off. West Ham’s win will be welcomed, but it came from 2 late goals, a disalowed goal for Blackburn which should have stood, and yet another penalty save from Rob Green (This is why he should play for England, Fabio.).
