Fred Not Going To Spurs…Arshavin going to Arsenal
By: Rob | January 29th, 2009
The man with the best sounding name in world football – come on it is quite awesome – Fred, probably isn’t going to be playing for Tottenham. The OL striker has been looking for a way out of France, but after a failure between the players agent (his brother) and Harry to arrange a meeting, both parties are having a right old go at the other.
First Harry said that Fred wouldn’t be joining after he failed to meet up with the club in North London. Then Fred’s brother called Redknapp a liar, and said that the Spurs boss had failed to meet him and his esteemed brother in France.
Liar is pushing it because Spurs apparently tried to rearrange the meeting in France in the hope of getting him to meet in London, but Fred’s brother wasn’t interested in this in case Fred was pressured into signing something he didn’t want to.
Anyway, it seems unlikely the two will kiss and make up now. So I can’t be the only one who’s thinking Tony Adams ought to go in for him just to spite his old boss. Although maybe Arsene Wenger should buy him. Because he should buy someone.
Having said that – apparently the long anticipated Arshavin to Arsenal deal is 90% done. Nope, I have no idea what that means either. Although according to Arsene, the last 10% is the trickiest. Oh, ok. So he’s sort of not really comitting either way there is he?
He also suggested the deal “maybe” done in the “next two days”. Well as thats when the transfer window is, it better had be.

Fred=overrated Arshavin=Class (he does however turn it on mainly in big matches and tend to fade out of regular league matches)

Arshavin is becoming a joke, the saga surrounding him is more like a soap opera.

the media makes the Arshavin saga a saga… and a joke… Just because Wenger is willing to negotiat instead of splash the cash everyone in todays sound bite generation gets all wadded up. Relax! Arsenal doesn’t need Arshavin nearly as much as he needs Arsenal.

i wont trust any of the Arshavin news till it actually happens…
I am sure Wenger would be regretting fussing about a few millions for Arshavin after losing a couple of points against Everton…Check my soccer blog at
