Did ol’ Pink Boots leak the Arsenal team to Bolton?
By: Rob | January 13th, 2009
Arsene Wenger was briefly really happy with Nicky ‘Pink Boots’ Bendtner, as he scored the only goal of a 1-0 Arsenal win over Bolton. It didn’t last though. As he headed down the tunnel, someone from Bolton warned him that they knew the team Arsene was putting out, hours before the team was officially announced. Arsene looked surprised and asked how, and then said Bolton man pointed the finger and the lone goalscorer and said he leaked the team to Fabrice Muamba.
Wenger is said to be very angry indeed, and Bendtner has strangely refused to comment. So did he leak the team to the other side? Or is it just sour grapes on the Bolton side?
Bendtner, who was wearing lime green boots this game instead of his usual choice of pink, just wanted to talk about the game afterwards:
We have talked among ourselves that 2008 was not the strongest, So we want to come out in 2009 and show what we are really about. I have got a few late goals now, but as long as I can help the team win, I am happy. We know the game is for 90 minutes, and if you are focused most of the time you get what you deserve.”
Whatever the way, it seems a really strange thing to do. I mean first off, why? First instinct is obviously money, but what one millionaire can give another, I’m not exactly sure. I’m not totally sure how much benifit it would give Bolton either, just three hours before they were going to find out anyway – and they did end up losing 1-0.
So storm in a tea-cup? Or has Bendtner betrayed his teamates, only to luckily bail them out later?

Big deal or not it certainly sets a nasty precedent. Does it stop at team sheets or extend to training ground exercises for that specific team? Free kick strategies? In a 1-0 win, the result could easily go the other way.

Really? Are we being serious? Arsenal barely had enough senior players to fill the bench. Oh wait. They DIDN’T have enough senior players to fill the bench. Wilshere, Ramsey, Bischoff, Gibbs with a combined age of 27, on the bench.
Forwards: Ade and RVP started over Bendtner. Didn’t need a tip off on that one.And the only two fit center backs in the whole side, Djourou and Toure…..started.
Thanks.for.that.Nicklas.
